Baby’s First
Birthday Party Idea

Everyone will go Gah-Gah over your baby and this first birthday party idea. Your baby has come so far and done so much, in one short year.
Your baby’s first birthday party is a special occasion for yourself, family and close friends.

One of many birthdays to come this one is truly special, because it is the first birthday and will happen only once in your child’s life. You might say it’s “The Birthday Party of A Lifetime”.

As for a first birthday party idea or first birthday party theme, if your child seems to show a special interest in a particular toy, or seems especially interested in an animated character, you will be able to notice. If that isn’t the case with your child you can select a theme for them.

Select one that you like, or maybe one that matches the décor of you child’s bedroom.

Regardless of the direction there are plenty to choose from under our cartoon or classic list.

  • You will want to have your childs first birthday party in familiar and comfortable surroundings. It’s a good idea to place a blanket in the corner of the birthday party room along with some of the birthday baby’s favorite toys and stuffed animals. It’s kinda like a security blanket area and with all the commotion, they may need some comforting. After all it is their introduction to the party world, and they have no idea what to expect.

  • If there are going to be other toddlers at your first birthday party get a couple of plain cardboard boxes for them to climb into and around.

If you really want to keep them busy with the boxes get some crayons and let them turn their creative juices loose. You know how they love doing this and it doesn’t cost a thing.

As for your first birthday party idea of an invitation here’s one you might like.

Blow up a balloon and with a magic marker, write all the details for your first birthday party invitation. Then tie on a candle in the shape of “number one”, or tie on a small pacifier.

Example of your invitation info: We’re having a one-derful first birthday party for childs name on (date)________(time)___________(location)______.
    R.S.V.P. by e-mail or by baby rattler(phone.)
    Deflate and mail the invitation.
Your guests will have to blow up the balloon to read the birthday party invitation. Hint ….send instructions.

Another firsy bithday party idea I think is so cute for an invitation is this one.

Write all of your first birthday party invitation information on a white piece of paper. Now fold your paper into a triangle shape. Fold the corners again into the shape of a baby’s diaper. Get the picture ? Next, pin on a real safety pin. Rub on a tad of baby powder for that special effect. Your friends will love it. A first birthday party idea… supreme.

Baby’s first birthday party idea for decorations:

  • Here is a fantastic first birthday party idea for tots. When selecting decorations have plenty of bubbles floating around. Bubbles seem to amaze little ones. They just love chasing and trying to catch bubbles. You will love watching just as much as they love chasing. A bubble machine is inexpensive and you can even rent them.

  • Streamers add a real nice touch to a baby’s first birthday party, blue for boys and pink for girls. Don’t know why I needed to tell you these colors. I’m sure you knew that.

  • As a first birthday party idea, mylar balloons are the best for children this age. Rubber balloons may burst and startle the little ones.

Here’s a great “baby’s first birthday party idea”

  • Another must, as a first birthday party idea, is a time capsule.

Make sure the container you use is sturdy. Very valuable treasures inside you know. Label and date the time capsule and use zippered plastic food bags to seal these treasures. Select everyday items to place in the time capsule along with a favorite toy, handprint, an old baby blanket, old pacifier, photos, and baby’s lock of hair. Some day this treasure will make a great graduation present, wedding present, or maybe a “baby’s first birthday party idea,” present for a grandchild.

Even though the birthday baby may be one today there are usually a few young guests who need entertaining as well. Here are a few kid party games they may like to play.

    AIR BALLOONS:

  • Blow some balloons up for this kid game. Get into a circle and start the balloon going around from player to player, keeping the balloon in the air at all times. The kids will enjoy seeing if they can keep the balloon moving for the entire time it takes to sing a song or listen to a piece of music.

This kid game is so cute to watch.

    BUBBLE WALK:

  • Take a length of bubble wrap packaging material (available from any office supply store). The length should be around 4-5 feet long. The players take turns walking the length of the bubble wrap. The first
one to walk the entire length without popping any bubbles is the winner. This game is not only fun but a mental challenge too as someone always finds a way of outsmarting the others. A colorful kid party idea for sure.

Next on our party agenda is a lifesaver race:

  • First divide your group into two teams. Each team will need to be lined up facing the forward. Then take a bunch of toothpicks and give each player one.

The player at the beginning of the line gets the lifesaver. Before you begin, everybody puts the toothpicks into their mouth and then the captain (first person in each line) puts a lifesaver on his/her toothpick. The object is to pass the lifesaver from team member to team member using only the toothpick, no hands allowed! The first team to pass it down to the end of the line wins. If the lifesaver falls on the floor then you must start at the beginning again.

Looking for a unique first birthday party idea for treats ?

  • Check this out. Make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for your kids. Trace the handprint of your birthday baby and use the tracing as you would a cookie cutter. Cut out sandwiches using a knife in the shape of your birthday baby’s hand. For these sandwiches I guess we have to use One-der Bread.

Now we need a first birthday party idea for a thirst quencher.

    How about a Year-ling Smoothie?

    Like this:

  • Add 1 cup of strawberry nectar or apple juice to a cup of milk, mix in a a frozen banana, 1 1/2 cups of frozen strawberries, and 1 cup of strawberry yogurt. It’s nutricious, and oh so yummy, yummy for the tummy, tummy.

If you’re looking for a first birthday party idea for supplies, try these:

  • Have plenty of film on hand, you’ll use more than you think, and most guests will request one or two pictures.

  • A video camera is a good first birthday party idea, but ask for a volunteer to tape, because you want to be in on every precious moment of your baby’s first birthday party celebration.

  • Two cakes are recommended. One for your guests, and one that your birthday baby will dive into, face first.

  • Be sure to place plenty of plastic on the floor surrounding their high chair.

  • Here is my grandson, and a perfect example of why you need the plastic.
